It is sweeter than ordinary sugar but, as distinct from it, does not cause the strain of the insular apparatus of the pancreatic gland, that is very important for diabetics. Fructose is considered to be the most suitable natural sugar for all aged people. It is the best kind of sugar in the disorder of cholesterol and adipoid exchange, of the work of the intestinal tract and in atherosclerosis.
